The Importance of Homework

When you come in for session, whether TEP or BEST, we always end with the body balanced and relaxed, having eliminated subconscious triggers keeping you in fight-or-flight. We strive for immediate improvement of symptoms -- keeping in mind, of course, that healing has its own timeframe after we've fixed the underlying problem.

There is seeming magic in the process itself, and much work is done on the table. However, there are always deeper layers to uncover, and in order to get the most benefit from your sessions, 'homework' may be suggested in the interim before your next one.

The form may vary, but the goal of this is always to deepen your healing -- physically, mentally, emotionally, or spiritually -- and to help reduce the accumulation of NEW stresses to your system!

Some examples of 'assignments' you may be given include affirmations, meditations or reflection prompts related to what specifically came up for you in treatment. Forgiveness, gratitude, or cost/benefit exercises are also common, along with suggested readings or self-balancing techniques. Occasionally a supplement or detox is recommended, or further testing to address symptoms from other levels. We always treat issues in the field or subconscious first, because that's where they begin, but I believe in involving whatever is necessary for continued and optimum results. Always, the wisdom of the body directs the course of what is 'assigned,' and even when the next treatment should be scheduled.

There is never a grade, or any judgement if you aren't able to complete an 'assignment' -- we are all busy and have our habits! -- but the more involved and consistent you are with your own healing journey, the faster and deeper your results will come.

I'm excited to see what unfolds for you! Happy healing!
